Thirty years ago, Dean Devlin and Roland Emmerich launched a franchise with this blockbuster movie starring Kurt Russell and James Spader - though maybe not in the way they expected. When an Egyptologist decodes the symbols on an ancient artifact, the U.S. military opens a portal through the stars leading to another galaxy. On the distant world, they must lead a rebellion against the sun god Ra to find a way back home.
