Scott Pilgrim vs. The World is a great example of a story that works on paper (as a graphic novel by Bryan Lee O’Malley, specifically) but could never work on the big screen. Not unless Edgar Wright directed it, that is. But since it flopped at the box office ten years ago, has this meta mash-up leveled up in the past decade?
